Morski krajobraz w Blogger’s Quilt Festival

Niedawno uszyłam nadmorski krajobraz. Na pożegnanie lata. 
Zgłaszam go do konkursu Blogger's Quilt Festiwal, który organizuje Amy Ellis na blogu Amys Creative Side w kategorii "aplikacje".

I have recently made a coastal landscape. It was my goodbye to the Summer. 
I submit it to the Blogger's Quilt Festival contest in the applications category. The contest is organised by Amy Ellis on her blog Amys Creative Side.  

  
Quilt ma wymiary 180 x 70 cm. Uszyłam go w prezencie ślubnym. Bardzo podobał się młodej parze. Więcej o nim przeczytacie w poście z września.
Pikowanie spowodowało, że quilt jest trójwymiarowy. W świetle słońca w moim ogrodzie dobrze widać wypukłe chmury.

The size of the quilt is 180 x 70 cm. It was a wedding gift for my friends. They liked it a lot! You can see more detaild on this wuilt in one of my previous posts from September. 
This quilt is three-dimensional. You can see the convex clouds when you put it in a daylight.

Szyłam tę pracę szybko i z ogromną przyjemnością. Zachęciło mnie to do uszycia bardzo podobnego, ale już mniejszego krajobrazu, o którym napisałam w kolejnym poście. 

It didn't take me long to sew this quilt. I also made a mini version of it, you can find more details and photos here.

Prawdopodobnie uszyję tą metodą następne krajobrazy, bo bardzo mi się spodobało takie szycie.

I will probably make more landscapes using this method. I really like it, it;s fast and effective.

"Planety" startują w jesiennej edycji konkursu dla blogerek - quilterek

Już drugi raz biorę udział w Blogger's Quilt Festiwal., który organizuje Amy Ellis na blogu Amys Creative Side.
W jego wiosennej edycji moja praca "Grawitacja" zajęła pierwsze miejsce w kategorii "Mini quilt".
Tym razem do festiwalu zgłaszam swoją pracę "Planety 2", inspirowaną kosmosem, w kategorii "Modern".
Kasia zamówiła ten obraz w prezencie dla swojego męża na ich dziesiątą rocznicę ślubu.
I potem napisała mi tak: mąż od razu zaczął się w niego wpatrywać i mówi "hmmmm... dziesiąta rocznica.... nie widzę tu dziesiątki... te linie się nijak nie układają... ale widzę nieskończoność!!!"

It's the second time my works take part in the Blogger's Quilt Festival contest. The contest is organised by Amy Ellis on her blog Amys Creative Side. 
In the previous edition, which was in the spring, my "Gravitation" took first place in the "Mini quilt" category. 
This time "Planets nr 2", which is inspired by the cosmos, is among others in the "Modern" category. 
Kasia ordered this work as a gift for her husband to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.  When she handed him the big package she wrote me an e-mail: 
"My husband started to look at this quilt just as he got it. He said: »Hmm this is tenth anniversary... and I can't see any '10' here... these lines don't look like a ten... oh! But I see infinity!«".
This is a little part of the quilt:
 

A tak prezentuje się cała. Ma wymiary 150 x115 cm.

You can see the whole work here. It's domensions are 150 x 115 cm. 

Uszyłam ją "techniką własną", którą bardzo dokładnie opisałam w poście z marca.  Polega na naszywaniu kilku warstw tkaniny, a potem wycinaniu nożyczkami albo specjalnym nożem do techniki chenille, fragmentów tkanin. Odsłania się w ten sposób głębsze warstwy materiału w innych kolorach. 

I quilted this work using self-invented technique, you can find the step-by-step instruction here. Long story short: you need to sew one layer of the fabrics on the other and then cut in the right places using the chenille knife. The layers which were below become visible after cutting.

Blogger's Quilt Festiwal - Art Quilt

To już moja druga praca, którą zaprezentuję w Blogger's Quilt Festiwal.

This is my second quilt which I want to show on Blogger's Quilt Festiwal.

Zgłaszam swoją pracę "A planety szaleją, szaleją....." do kategorii Art Quilt.
 
I submit my work "And the planets go crazy..." to the category Art Quilt. 
 

Moja praca jest efektem fascynacji malarstwem Soni Delaunay.

My work is the effect of fascination with Sonia Delaunay. paintings.

Sama wymyśliłam sobie jak uszyć ten patchwork. Cały proces szycia opisałam bardzo dokładnie, krok po kroku w innym poście. Zapraszam Was, zajrzyjcie.


I invented myself the method of sewing this pathwork. The whole process of sewing is described step by step in this post. Have a look.
 
Ten patchwork ma wymiary 210 x 140 cm. Jest uszyty z resztek różnych tkanin, bawełny, lnu, różnych tkanin ubraniowych, często błyszczących. Przy ich wyborze kierowałam się wyłącznie kolorem. Zużyłam skrawki około 100 różnych tkanin.
 
The quilt is big - its dimensions are 210 x 140 cm. It is sewn from remnants of different fabrics, cotton, linen, clothing fabrics, often shiny. I was selecting them solely by color. I used scraps of about 100 different fabrics.

Obrazek kojarzy mi się planetami, a jego tytuł zaczerpnęłam z tytułu piosenki polskiego zespołu Maanam.

Picture reminds me of the planets, and its title is part of the the song by Maanam.
 
Jestem bardzo zadowolona z tego patchworku. Gdy ogląda się go "na żywo", to niemalże wiruje, drga, mieni się, lśni. Szyłam go jako prezent urodzinowy dla mojej synowej i syna. Spodobał im się bardzo i wisi teraz w ich domu.

I really like this quilt. When I look at it I can almost see how it moves, swirls, shines, twitches…  It was a gift for my daughter in law and my son. They liked it and hang it in their home.
